Positive feedback on Tropical Troubadour!

Well...I'm starting to get responses from my first round of CD submissions to "trop rock" DJs. Here's what they have to say:

"Just got your New CD in the mail yesterday and Love it. I will be featuring your CD on my show, The Musical Gumbo Show, on ACB Radio Interactive." - Barry Campbell

"Let me make it a point to say that I am a REAL tropical music critic. 99 percent of the CDs that I get sent, I do not like...with that said... I REALLY, REALLY LIKED THIS ONE! Great album! I will definitely be playing some of these cuts, and this is coming from a very discriminating island folk music afficionado." - Paul Leslie, editor, Tropical Pleasures magazine and Radio Margaritaville guest DJ ("Time after Island Time")

"...you've pulled out all the stops on this one! My favorite tracks are "Key West Habit" and "Wednesday Night Regatta", both of which I am featuring on my show next week." - Art Perry, "One Particular Harbor," WKHS 90.5 FM, MD

What more can I really say, after all these wonderful things have been said?

Online radio feature Wed 1/26!

Hello, music fans!

I just got word that Tropical Troubadour will be featured on Barry Campbell's "Musical Gumbo" radio show this coming Wednesday, available at http://interactive.acbradio.org . The show runs at 21:00 GMT, which translates to 4 PM Eastern and 1 PM Pacific Time.

This will be my second time featured on Barry's show. Because it's Internet radio, you can tune in from wherever you have a browser and speakers. Barry does a good program full of enjoyable music, much of it with that tropical attitude.

The show *must* go on...

Sometimes being a musician is a conflict of priorities. Last night I had the choice between taking care of my health and being possibly considered a "flaky musician."

I've had some odd health stuff happening lately, mostly fever. Well, last night I went to play a show at a new venue, and I was not fit to play. My temp was over 100 when I left for the gig.

It was actually a pretty good show. People enjoyed the music, I was connecting well with the audience, and I pretty much had fun until the chills started in, late in the final set.

But my temp was about 103 when I got home, and I'm still not in good shape today. On the plus side, maybe whatever this is will finally start running its course. On the minus side, it's no fun to live through. :(

But I've definitely impressed the venue owners with my commitment to keeping my commitments.

Ah well...back to bed, or back to watching remodeling shows on HGTV.

They're here!

I'm proud and happy to announce the arrival of the new Tropical Troubadour CDs!

Nearly a year in the making, this CD contains ten songs, nine originals and one cover of one of my favorite Jimmy Buffett tunes.

It's almost like giving birth.

To hear samples, visit www.lorendavidson.com/music.htm . To get your own copy, click on the links there. It should be available on CDBaby within a week or so, and probably in 1-2 months on the digital download services like iTunes and Musicmatch.

If you like it, tell a friend.
