Living on Island Time
I really enjoy spending time on the island of Alameda, just a few short miles from where I live.
Last night I was invited to participate in singer/songwriter night at McGrath's Pub, one of my favorite places to play. There were about a half-dozen musicians present, and we had a very loosely organized time drinking, sharing songs, and jamming. We played blues, rock and roll, old folk music, and a few originals. Some of the other musicians managed to keep up with a few of my originals, including "Wednesday Night Regatta," "Key West Habit," and a new song, "I Don't Care (if the Plane Don't Come)."
I had so much fun, I forgot to go home early. As I was finally dragging my slightly soggy self out of there shortly before midnight, the band which had been rehearsing in back was in the process of setting up to jam with us. I hated to miss that, but I did need to be up this morning.
